I LOVE making and sending cards to my friends. My Mom was always writing letters, and sending cards. I also started collecting quotes as a teenager, which grew into using those quotes on my cards. It’s a wonderful to make someones day.
I have saved cards from my Mum(now passed) and my friend kids when they made them as littles, I put in cookbooks to mark fav recipes. When I go to hook to make for an event, I'm delighted to see them again, feels like a visit of times past. 💕
I do! I also match stamps to the color/theme. At Christmas I use wax seals and special lettering markers. Lately, I have been making my own cards and envelopes 😊
On the subject of cards...I make handmade cards. I have for about 40 years. It started when I moved out of state from my grandma with dementia. I created postcards with a joke on one side and the answer on the other. She didn't have the attention span for a letter. When my mom was in the hospital dealing with ovarian cancer, I purchased a card and was shocked to see the cost. I then used my own photos to create cards. Since then, I do a mix of scrapbook style and photo cards. I realize this is an outdated thing - to send cards. But also know some of my friends and family appreciate the unique and specialness of a card made just for them. One friend confessed she's got a box of my cards she's saved over the years. It's a fun and creative outlet for me. As long as my eyes and hands can handle it, I'll keep doing it.
Wow, Christine, your cards must be gorgeous. I love the creativity! And what a gift you are giving by making them with your two hands... not just of your thoughts and good wishes, but of your heart and soul. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏼
I love sending cards that my friend makes. She is super crafty and makes these special cards with pretty paper. She encourages me to use them up so I try to thank people who do things for me. Like the contractor! I don’t know if he likes it or not but I love the feeling that I get to spread a little joy with the beauty of the card.
And yes I display those I receive! But I’m doing something these days that never did before. I’m actually tossing them in the recycle bin after a little while. I used to save each card but now I realize that I will have to go through it again and I want ease and less stuff. Thanks to Stephanie!

Agreed. Love these ways to repurpose cards.
