Tune In to Tune Up
When you pause long enough to truly see, even a flower at dusk can speak. Explore what beauty reveals when you're willing to simply be present.
âStillâin a wayânobody sees a flowerâreallyâit is so smallâwe haven't the timeâand to see takes time like to have a friend takes time.â
âGeorgia O'Keeffe
Thereâs a flower that caught my eye at sunset. The afternoon light was incredible, and there it was, doing its glorious thing of simply be-ing.
I ran for my iPhone, zoomed in, and clicked.
Later, after Iâd uploaded the image, I saw that it wasnât just a single flower anymore. Hiding in plain sight was a crinkled vine, shaped like an ampersand, and the dark leaves mixed in with the light onesâsibling buds at different stages of growth. All of it together, with the flower petals against the backdrop of the late afternoon sky, took my breath away.
Who doesnât love being stunned awake by beauty when you least expect it?
The camera helps. And the willingness to slow down and detach from outcomes.
Thereâs a lot of magic out there just waiting for us to sense it. And, as Georgia OâKeeffe already reminds us, âto see takes time.â
What do you notice right now that you hadnât noticed before? If you look more closely, what is it saying?
What does it reveal about you? 1
