“Any success takes one in a row.
Do one thing well, then another.
Once, then once more.
Over and over until the end,
then it’s oneinarow again..”
—Matthew McConaughey, Greenlights
I love this excerpt from Matthew McConaughey’s bestselling memoir, Greenlights.* Though I would argue one point.
As some of you know, I’m a big fan of baby-step repetition as a pathway to success. Setting yourself up for doing one thing “well,” however, could be a set up for not doing it at all.
Even if all you can handle is a lame, messy, half-hearted attempt at something, it would be enough…
… enough to grow a new habit that might lead to big(ger) changes — especially when you add mindfulness to the task.
Yes, awareness. It changes the game.
Ahhh…🙌🏼🏡

A wild and spacious ride
If you could use a good read, Greenlights will do it, especially if you’re into audiobooks. Nothing beats listening to a passionate actor read their own work. McConaughey is utterly transporting and elevating. I felt like I was sitting at the foot of a master storyteller as he regaled me with stories of his wild and remarkable life.
