Making Things Whole Again
A moving story of hope, persistence, triumph over adversity, and claiming one’s place in the world
I know that carving out thirty minutes from a busy day is an almost impossible feat for many of you. Even on weekends. And adding one more thing to your impossible list of to-dos, is just, well, out of the question. But trust me. These thirty minutes will be worth it.
Before you delete this email, hear me out.
If time is an issue, here are some ways to reclaim it:
You can free up thirty minutes spent scrolling on social media by choosing not to. You can unlock some extra minutes (and bandwidth) by choosing not to dwell on worrisome thoughts (yes, negative thought-spinning does rob us of time).
Instead of tuning into bad news, you can consciously tune into something that will lift you.
However you end up managing it, here’s what I recommend: put your phone on silent mode, make yourself a cup of tea or popcorn, and revel as you settle in to watch this thirty minute 2024 Oscar-nominated documentary short film below.
Ahhh ….💕🍿
(PS, thank you Wendy Bichel for turning me on to this. As you can tell, I loved it!)
Short Documentary 🍿🎥
“The Last Repair Shop”
Directed by Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers. Winner of the 2024 Academy Award and 2023 Critics Choice Documentary Awards for Best Documentary Short. (35 minutes)
So moving. Do what you love. You might lose touch with it, but life will you lead you back. Give it attention, cherish it when you find it. Also, what is broken can be repaired - a musical instrument or anything - even ourselves. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you!! Just what I needed🥰
