Oh my favorite poem from his book. That silence and stillness of a rock is such a powerful metaphor. It calms me.

I’m sitting here writing Christmas cards and notes and enjoying the slowness and thoughtfulness of sharing the love I have for my family and friends. If I stay mindful I enjoy the peace. When I get carried away into the mess of “I have to finish this or else ..” I’m gently bringing myself back to slowness. This is a gift to myself this year. There is too much hurry scurry in this world and I am choosing slow and it’s good enough.

Well put, Ruth. I can feel the quiet reverence of your Christmas card writing. What a nice way to slow down.

I’m looking forward to the Spacious Way series in January. I have the books! My word for 2025 is slow, not my usual MO even as I’m approaching 82 next year. I would like slow to be a choice, not forced on me because of advancing age. 🐢🫶
