Create a Clutter Clearing Book Group
Share your experiences and stories to reduce clutter together
When there is a structure in place, a common purpose, and a willingness to listen and share without expectation or judgment, that is when some big clearing magic happens…
without anyone ever having lifted a finger to clear at home.
As humans we yearn to connect, and one of the best ways to do that is by sharing our stories with others. The problem is that most of the time our stories never get told, especially when it comes to clearing clutter and reducing overwhelm. These stories get buried under the noise, busyness, and the invisible clutter that keeps us stuck in pain and shame.
Thanks to technologies like Zoom, getting together with others is as simple as getting out of bed. What we need is a bit of structure: an hour or two once a week (or month), a container of support and safety, a topic or two to focus the conversation, and few friends on the same page eager to listen and be heard with their whole heart.
Who can you think of in your life who might like to join you in cultivating some clearing, slowing down, and simplifying?
Are you already a member of a book group, women’s circle, church group, poker night, or gardening club? I’m sure there are others who might enjoy going on a ride with you — even if it’s just one other person who lives halfway around the world!
…
If this sounds like something you’d like to try — be it to address physical or emotional clutter that holds you back, or to simply grow your awareness of how it shows up in your life — I’ve worked out all the details.
If you can supply the willingness to lighten and be enlightened, I have a few book suggestions (designed with book groups in mind) that will provide the content and lead the way.
If you could use the supportive camaraderie of fellow clearing-mates — or prefer to travel solo — the books below will guide you every step of the way.
…
Remember, whether you meet virtually or in person, all you need is at least one other person and you have a group!
Ahhh 🏡
Don’t know which book to start with?
I have two suggestions:
Get a copy of the foundational guide in its original longer edition (left), or the shorter 10th Anniversary edition (right). In the back of both books you’ll find everything you need to start and host a group meeting, plus six sample meeting agendas.
Gather a few friends to join you in the A Year for You Clearing Challenges being rolled out in 2025. In these challenges you’ll get the benefit of me nudging you every week by email. (More details on these coming soon).
