I love airports. I love that I can just sit there and disappear. Ironically, I sometimes do my best writing or accomplish the most on an airplane ride....no distractions and the encouragement to just focus...or space out. Whichever.

PS, Laura, your name sounds familiar. Were you involved in the San Miguel de Allende Writer’s conferences? If so I remember you at one of your events back in the day when I too offered my programs.

Yes, Stephanie, I taught there maybe six different years? I’m applying to go back next year. It’s such a great conference.

What were you teaching down there? What do you teach?

Yeah me too. About 5 years between 2010 and 2015.

Though my teaching, writing, and online courses focus on clutter clearing as a journey and spiritual practice, I was invited by Susan Page to share my early-on successes with platform building, social networking, and self-publishing. Was also on a panel with Brooke Warner and April Eberhardt which was such fun. I agree, it's a wonderful conference.

I’ve had a home in SMA since 2004, which is where I spend my winters and where I am now.

Me too! Made all the better when we can avail ourselves of those airline lounges.

The image that speaks to me the most is ‘Riding high’ as I really enjoy a window seat that can gives me views that may absorb me into a trance like state. I find that vantage point so beautiful with all its patterns and colors . Also, the small window only gives so much to see and so the feeling of anticipation continues as I move closer to my destination. Awe, wonder and anticipation are afforded me through this little window and by the time I arrive at my destination, I feel refreshed and ready for what is to come. Thanks, Stephanie, for taking us on this journey!

I loved these photos. I too love travelling (and photography!) but all that has come to an end now as my husband is severely disabled and can no longer go abroad (or drive). I am his carer, so life is a bit limited now. We try to travel within the UK but it becomes difficult to find accommodation that is sufficiently disabled friendly. So I looked at your photos with a certain degree of sadness ….. but somehow I can never quite give up the hope that one day I will travel again! As I am nearly 79 I suppose it’s unlikely but I am lucky enough to still be ridiculously fit for my age! It was still lovely to see the inside of airports etc again!! Thank you!! I know I can continue travelling vicariously with you!

I'm so glad my photos inspire you to continue dreaming of what is possible, Judith. I have found that traveling at 14 knots -- by ship -- is a great way to go without all the wear and tear of airports and security and time zones. The world is a big world and there are many ways to experience it.

The best part of travel for me is watching people like this ingenious mom. That makes me smile and think that I could stay in airports happy since I get to connect with humanity.
