The Journey Begins
You are about to enter into the spacious feeling of ahhh — that expanded place that gives you permission to slow down, catch your breath, take a load off and…
Come home to yourself.
This is a journey that turns down the noise, and
turns up the light on what it means to live a clear and spacious life
in all its soulful, sensory, and surprising forms.
Through photographs, inspirations, and mindful practices
this is a journey of self-discovery where…
Beauty and calm nourish and restore us,
Simplicity, ease, and joy light the way
And…
Awareness changes everything
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
Oh, that it could be all that neat and tidy!
The thing about journeys
While it is the nature and beautiful mystery of a journey to not know exactly what will happen as we ‘journey home’ together…
here’s what I do know from having guided hundreds of thousands of others on clearing journeys of their homes and lives…
Journeys don’t always add up, make sense, or go in a straight line.
A lot can happen when we take the long view, travel the road consciously and consistently, and put some skin in the game.
Curious to know what that might look like, join us and find out.

Who I Am
I love journeys — both the physical ones that take us outside of ourselves, and the spiritual ones that take us within.
As a longtime space clearing expert, teacher, and author of five books, I have been helping people address the underlying causes of clutter, stress, struggle, and overwhelm for three decades.
With four bestselling courses at DailyOM, it has also been a privilege and joy to guide over 300,000 others on yearlong clearing journeys of their homes and hearts — one small step and moment at time.
It is, in fact, their transformational experiences that has led me to add a whole new dimension to this journey with you all here on Substack — one that uses my photographs to telegraph what it means to live a clear and spacious life in all its soulful, sensory, and surprising forms.

Speaking of long views
Let’s call upon the late, great Mary Oliver for some opening remarks.
The poem below strikes all the right notes. May it inspire us all to love what we love going forward. Without apology.
I’ll see you on the trail.
Ahhh 🙏🏼
Wild Geese
by Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clear blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting—
over and over
announcing your place
in the family of things.

PS… if you open this post on a device larger than a phone, you might feel the power of the sky in the photo the way I do every time I see it.
The view is from our rooftop in Mexico.
It is one of the reasons we keep going back there every winter. Like wild geese.
Hi Stephanie, welcome to Substack! I am thinking I need to sign up again for your course. Life has been quite a ride, and like a broken limb finally out of its protective cast, it’s time to abide in spaciousness and the movement and opportunity for strength that is available in that spaciousness. Sorry for weird imagery but circumstances have resulted my personally having to explore that very spaciousness.
Oh what an amazing photo!!! I am happy I found my way here...though it took me a little over 3 weeks I am super glad to be here. Thank you for this Journey Home!!! I am ready!!
