The Art of Slow
Haiku and images to restore calm and bring us back into the present now
Last week’s post on hurrying inspired me to write a few haiku* and share some images go with them.
What helps you slow down, find your center, and come alive?
Making art does it for me, without question. Putting things away and folding laundry does that too. But that’s for another day.
Ahhh 🙌🏼

Hurry not, I say.
When I think I’m missing out,
I am missing me.
Where am I going
If not towards what matters most.
It’s safe to let go.
Your turn…

Which of these haiku speaks to you most right now?
If it moves you to write a haiku from what you experienced above (or from your life in general), we’d love to be moved!
In case you missed these...
What’s the Hurry?
If your habit is to rush, what does hurrying ultimately get you? And who are you hurrying for? These and other reflections on why we rush.
Softening Your Gaze
"The world can look harsh/ when viewed from the outside in./ Up close changes things./" I wrote that and other haikus to try to make sense of some photos I made in the high desert. Like life, these pictures remind me that things are not always what they seem.
Love the Haiku’s!!
I say to myself-
slower do everything slower...
Summer is so fast!
