Hi everyone,
One of the benefits of having the latest iPhone is its ability to capture beauty (and detail) from a distance, like the photo I made recently of a great egret above taking flight. (The shot required some waiting and patience, but that’s another story.)
We have watched these egrets cruise back and forth for weeks from our rooftop, mesmerized by their slow, easeful, deliberate pace.
One twig at a time.
Yes, that’s all they carry over long distances to create their nests you see in the jacaranda tree here:
One twig.
Every day.
And look how effortless and gorgeous they make it look!
If that’s what it takes to create a beautiful sanctuary in community with others, imagine what we can do every day to create ours.
…
This brings me to my latest video episode of life in the slow lane * — coming to you again from my winter hometown in central Mexico where beauty abounds, joy is everything, and surprise encounters rule the day.
Like with the egrets, the moon was real big player this month. I couldn’t get enough of it — from its new moon formations, to lunar eclipse totality, back to smiling crescent again.
A big sky delivering big shows — all made possible by my trusty iPhone and a steady hand.
You can watch it all below.
…
What is the one “twig” you can add to (or subtract from) your home that would enable you to take flight?

May these images of a world at play give you reasons to rejoice and celebrate too.
I love all your videos Stephanie, but I do wish that each picture was visible for just a little longer as I always want to study each one…..and it disappears just before I’ve been able to absorb it!! The egret is absolutely beautiful. 😍
Thanks for sharing the video. So great!
