Looking Up to See
Here’s my antidote to chaos and confusion. May these moving images of a world at play give you reasons to rejoice and celebrate too.
Just look up and see
What is hiding in plain sight
A world full of light
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my latest video installment of life in the slow lane* — this time coming to you from my hometown in central Mexico where nature abounds, family is everything, and joyous celebrations can erupt at any moment for any reason.
I have to say that watching my “movie” again with the upbeat music I chose to go with it put a spring in my step. I’d forgotten how much spontaneous dancing there was in the square this past month.
And birdsong.
I’d forgotten how blown away I’ve been by our exuberant garden; mesmerized by a bamboo growing in the shape of the Virgen of Guadalupe.
Indeed, the past month has reminded me of a simple truth to live by, given to me by a friend recently.
“If you want to get unstuck, just look up.”
And let go.
Taking ourselves outside of ourselves does have magic powers. All we have to do is stop long enough to receive them.
I’ll let this month’s video speak for itself.
What happens when you look up?
What is wanting to reveal itself to you?
Ahhh 🏡

Speaking of stopping long enough…

On the Other Side of Our Resistance...
"The mystic has seen that the meaning of being alive is just to be alive. . . . It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves." —Alan Watts
In a very counterintuitive way, slowing down can actually lead to greater productivity. Let’s dig in…
Thank you! A friend, Meri Martin, sent me your video, because it reminded her of my book. It is so lovely to feel a kindred spirit. Here is my response. I made it in book creator over the past 2 years called "Looking Up".
